THE NAUTA AWARD FOR PHARMACOCHEMISTRY

By awarding the Nauta Award, the EFMC acknowledges and recognizes outstanding achievements in the advancement of Medicinal Chemistry and the development of international organizational structures in Medicinal Chemistry.

The EFMC is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2014 Nauta Award for outstanding achievements in the field of Medicinal Chemistry is Dr Paul LEESON.

 

THE UCB-EHRLICH AWARD for EXCELLENCE IN MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY

The EFMC awards the UCB-Ehrlich Award for Excellence in Medicinal Chemistry to a young scientist for outstanding research in the field of Medicinal Chemistry in its broadest sense.

The EFMC is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2014 UCB – Ehrlich Award for outstanding research into natural products and chemical biology is Professor Craig CREWS.

 

THE PROUS INSTITUTE - OVERTON AND MEYER AWARD FOR NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN DRUG DISCOVERY

To encourage innovation and investigation in technological development related to drug discovery, the EFMC awards the Prous Institute – Overton and Meyer Award to the author of discovery, evaluation or use of new technologies.

IUPAC RICHTER PRIZE

The 2014 Iupac Richter Prize has been awarded to Dr Helmut BUSCHMANN for his outstanding creative contributions to the invention and development of the novel analgesic drug tapentadol (Nucynta™ and Palexia™).

The Prize (USD 10 000) has been established by a generous gift from the Chemical Works of Gedeon Richter, Plc.  (Budapest, Hungary) to acknowledge the key role that medicinal chemistry plays toward improving human health.
