By air:

Brussels airport and Brussels South Charleroi airport are convenient landing spots to reach the symposium site.  Both are located at about 30 Km from Louvain-la-Neuve.  Information on the flights serving these airports can be obtained on the sites:

Brussels airport (Zaventem) is linked to Brussels Central railway station by a train service (trains every 30 minutes).  From Brussels Central station: take a direct train to Ottignies (trains every hour), then switch train at Ottignies to Louvain-la-Neuve Université (trains every 30 minutes).  A taxi from Brussels airport to Louvain-la-Neuve costs approximately 65-70€.

Brussels South Charleroi aiport is linked by a shuttle bus to Charleroi-Sud railway station.  From Charleroi-Sud station: take a direct train to Ottignies (direct trains every hour), then switch train at Ottignies to Louvain-la-Neuve Université (trains every 30 minutes).

By train:

From any of the following stations in Brussels (Midi, Nord, Central, Schuman or Bruxelles-Luxembourg), take a direct train to Ottignies (trains every 30 or 60 minutes); change in Ottignies for Louvain-la-Neuve (usually immediate connection on the same platform). The trip takes about 45-50 minutes.

The symposium site is at walking distance (5 minutes) from LLN station: follow the arrows.  The fare by taxi from Ottignies station to Louvain-la-Neuve is approximately 15€.

By car:

Louvain-la-Neuve is located near the E411 motorway (Brussels-Namur-Luxembourg): take exit n°8a heading to Louvain-la-Neuve.  At the roundabout, make a 180° turn, direction “centre ville”.  Participants coming by car will be offered daily cards to be used in parkings “Grand Place” and “Grand Rue”  (see map)

By coach:

A special coach service will be arranged from Hotel Ibis in LLN to the symposium site, everyday from Monday 9 to Thursday 12.

Departure: On Thursday, July 12, a coach to Brussels airport will leave the symposium site at the end of the conference (around 4:15 p.m.).  Depending on the traffic, the bus should reach Brussels airport at 5.00 p.m.
