How to get to the University

By car
Highway A7, exit 23 "Avignon Nord" / D225 direction Avignon, exit "Avignon Centre" then follow left in direction "Université".

By Public Transportation
The bus lines 1, 3, 4, 9 and 12 ensure regular trips to the stops "Université" and "St Lazare".

By train
From the TGV station take a taxi or the shuttle till the city center. From there, you can take a bus to the University campus.
The University is at a 20 minutes walking distance from the Central train station.

How to get to Avignon

Avignon is easy to reach by train from Marseille, Paris and other European cities.  Although it does have its own small airport, many visitors arrive via the Marseille Provence Airport.

The city of Avignon France has two main train stations:

  • Gare d'Avignon Centre (Avignon Central Train Station)
  • Gare TGV (High-speed train station)

The Avignon Central Train Station is located just outside the city ramparts, at the south end of Cours Jean Jaurez.  It is a pleasant walk from the train station to the city centre.

The Gare TGV train station is located on the outskirts of Avignon. There is a shuttle bus that connects this new station to Avignon city centre. A bus ticket costs 1.20 euro. In alternative, a taxi ride to the city centre will cost around 15 euros.

For participants coming by car, there is a free parking at 5-7 minutes walking from the university (parking 'Les Italiens' near Boulevard Saint Lazare). Free shuttle busses are organised between the parking and the university. More details are available here.
